Paul Pettine has practiced law in California for more than 20 years, developing the expertise to become a highly trusted Santa Barbara matrimonial and family attorney. In addition to his caseload, Paul also serves as a pro tem settlement judge. His practice areas include: Family law, Civil litigation, and Collaborative law. He earned his B.A. from The University of Texas before attending Southwestern University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. He is a member of the California State Bar Association. Paul is greatly involved with public education. He volunteers weekly at a public elementary school and is President of the Carpinteria Education Foundation, which raises funds for Carpinteria’s public schools.

She concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, including divorce and custody matters, and residential real estate transactions. Ms. Pirtle graduated cum laude from Northern Illinois College of Law. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Northern Illinois University. During law school, Ms. Pirtle was active in the Dooley Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, serving as the vice justice during her second year. Ms. Pirtle was also active in the Women's Law Caucus and the Public Interest Law Society. Since graduating Ms. Pirtle remains active in her local bar associations. She is a member of the Kane County Bar Association, McHenry County Bar Association, and Illinois State Bar Association.

Founding attorney, Rachel Platt, is a highly respected attorney among her peers and clients. Since 2014, Ms. Platt has been selected as a Georgia Super Lawyers in the field of family law. Additionally since 2018, Georgia Super Lawyers named her to the Top 100 Attorneys and to the Top 50 Women Attorneys for the State of Georgia. Previously, Ms. Platt was an honoree on the Georgia Rising Star list in the field of family law from 2010-2013, voted by her peers as one of the best young lawyers in the state. She has also been recognized as one of Georgia’s Legal Elite in 2009, 2012, 2016, 2018 and 2019 in the area of family law by Georgia Trend magazine. Ms. Platt also currently holds a “Superb” rating on avvo.com. Ms. Platt graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2000, and obtained her Juris Doctor at the University of Colorado, School of Law, in 2004. She became a member of the Georgia Bar in 2004. Ms. Platt is an active member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (Foundation President 2010 – 2011) and the Atlanta Bar Association. Ms. Platt has been practicing law for the last 18 years and is currently concentrates her legal practice in the areas of family law and special education law, and as outlined below, she frequently lectures on both topics.

Mr. Poe has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in both Virginia and Washington D.C. in 2016-2019, one of the “10 Best” Attorneys for Family Law in 2016-2017 by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys, chosen as one of the 2017 Top 10 Family Law Attorneys by the American Jurist Institute, and selected as one of the Top 10 Family Law Attorneys Under 40 in 2016 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. Since joining Arquilla & Poe in early 2012, Michael Poe’s practice has focused on domestic relations and family law. Mr. Poe has extensive experience in the litigation of child custody, visitation and support issues; spousal support; equitable distribution of marital assets and debts; and the negotiation and preparation of property settlement agreements. Mr. Poe is also well versed in issues of military retirement, disability pay, the Survivor Benefit Plan, the Uniformed Services Former Spouses Protection Act and the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
