Bryan C. Shartle is one of the two managing partners of the Firm and assists in the management of the Firm’s 10 offices. Bryan specializes in representing collection agencies, debt buyers, student loan servicers, banks, credit issuers, financial institutions, and telemarketers. He has extensive experience in consumer litigation, including claims under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the myriad of state consumer laws. He has been the lead attorney in several landmark decisions involving the collection industry. Due to his expertise and trial experience, Bryan has been retained by clients to handle consumer cases and arbitrations throughout the United States. He is also approved counsel for several large insurance companies. Following his 2001 graduation from Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, where he was one of only a few whose work was published in the Louisiana Law Review, Bryan served as a law clerk for The Honorable Justice Jeannette Theriot Knoll of the Louisiana Supreme Court. After finishing his clerkship, Bryan joined the Firm and helped grow the consumer defense practice group into the largest practice in the country dedicated solely to protecting collection agencies, debt buyers, student loan servicers, banks, credit issuers, financial institutions, and telemarketers. Bryan has special expertise in complex litigation and consumer class actions and has defended hundreds of class actions involving many hundreds of millions of dollars in exposure. He has assisted clients in settling consumer claims on a class-wide basis and is very familiar with the requirements of class certification. He has handled multidistrict litigation and was designated as coordinating counsel for over 150 consumer-related lawsuits filed in California state court. Bryan also assists clients with compliance, regulatory, bankruptcy, and licensing issues. He has represented clients in CFPB readiness assessments and enforcement actions and is familiar with many of the employment issues affecting the collection industry. In addition to leading the Consumer Defense Section and Bankruptcy Law Section, Bryan also leads the Appellate Practice Section. Bryan has significant appellate experience and has represented clients in appeals before 8 of the 13 federal circuit courts of appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Bryan is a regular presenter for ACA International and RMA International, both international trade organizations for credit and collection professionals. Bryan has spoken at numerous conferences throughout the country and often publishes and edits articles through the Firm’s website and alerts. Bryan has served as the Louisiana MAP State Chair Representative for ACA International and on several occasions has been retained by various trade organizations to assist in litigation involving important industry issues. In his spare time, Bryan likes to stay active and enjoys travelling and the outdoors. He has completed several ultra-marathons and difficult hikes and climbs over the years. Recently, Bryan trekked into Everest Base Camp and climbed Mt. Rainier.

LAURA R. SHATTUCK is a partner and co-founder of PARRINO|SHATTUCK, PC. She is an active litigator and has handled many sophisticated cases. A Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent-rated attorney, her practice includes all areas of family law, such as divorce, property division, alimony, child custody, child support, post-judgment contempt, and post-judgment modification. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut; the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut; and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. Shattuck is a member of the American, Connecticut, and Fairfield County bar associations. Additionally, she serves as a special master for family matters in the Judicial District of Fairfield at Bridgeport and Judicial District of Stamford/Norwalk at Stamford. J. Taylor Shaw joined FSSV as an Associate in May 2019. Mr. Shaw assists in representing business entities and individuals in a variety of matters including non-subscriber employer defense, commercial disputes, personal injury, and insurance-related matters. Prior to joining FSSV, Mr. Shaw primarily practiced commercial litigation, though Mr. Shaw also handled a wide range of corporate and transactional matters during the first year of his practice. Mr. Shaw received his J.D. in May 2017 from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, which he attended as a Dean’s Scholarship recipient. During law school, Mr. Shaw served as an Articles Editor and Staff Editor for the SMU Science & Technology Law Review. Mr. Shaw received his B.G.S., with a focus in History and Afro-American and African Studies, in May 2014 from the University of Michigan, where he was a member of the Order of Omega honors fraternity. Ronald U. Shaw is a trial lawyer who specializes in defending health care providers in medical malpractice cases, licensing and credentialing matters, and in handling serious personal injury matters. Since 1983, he has represented over 2,000 health care providers and has tried over 150 medical malpractice jury trials. Ron also represented individuals seriously injured in nonmedical matters.
