Wayne T. Rife is a 1975 Texas A&M University graduate and a former member of the Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets. Upon graduation, he entered the business world in Pasadena, Texas as a merchandiser with the J.C. Penny Company where he gained invaluable business experience. After four years, Wayne began operating an industrial manufacturing business in Houston, Texas, with sales into Texas and Louisiana. After 11 years of practical business experience, Wayne entered law school in 1986 to pursue a long time dream of becoming a practicing attorney. He graduated from the University of Houston; Bates School of Law, and began his practice with Woodard, Hall & Primm, P.C., a prominent Houston firm. In 1991, Wayne Rife and his family moved to College Station, Texas. Upon moving to the Brazos Valley, Wayne Rife continued the practice of law with an emphasis on civil and commercial disputes and litigation with a focus on business and corporate contracts and disputes, consumer disputes, a wide range of construction matters, school law, real estate disputes, and insurance defense. Having tried many jury trials to verdict in both federal and state courts, Wayne Rife now has an active litigation practice in and around the Brazos Valley, including Brazos County, Grimes County, Robertson County, Burleson County, Madison County, Walker County, and Washington County. He also has administrative and appellate experience having practiced in a variety of administrative venues and appellate courts throughout the state. Alan M. Rifkin, Managing Partner of Rifkin Weiner Livingston LLC (RWL), founded RWL in 1989 after serving as Counsel and Chief Legislative Officer to former Governor William Donald Schaefer and after previously serving in the same capacity to the Senate of Maryland. Alan is Chair of the firm’s Sports Law, Franchise, Facilities, Media Rights and Gaming practice and Co-chair of the firm’s Business and Commercial Transactions practice. Lynn employs sophisticated estate planning and settlement techniques, ensuring clients' assets are passed on according to their wishes while minimizing gift, estate, and income taxes. She has extensive experience in structuring inter-generational asset transfers, tax planning, retirement and elder law planning, business succession planning, and asset protection planning. In addition, Lynn represents executors and trustees in the administration of estates and trusts. She is skilled in obtaining Superior Court approval for trust accountings, modifications, and terminations. Lynn has considerable expertise in handling guardianship and conservatorship cases before the Probate Courts. She collaborates with attorneys from the Litigation Group within the firm, representing individual and corporate fiduciaries in probate, guardianship, and trust proceedings involving fiduciary liability issues, will contests, accountings, and related court matters. Lynn's legal career began with a clerkship at the Rhode Island Supreme Court, serving as a law clerk to The Honorable Chief Justice Joseph R. Weisberger and Associate Justice Robert G. Flanders. She then joined the law firm Hinckley, Allen & Snyder, practicing in both their Providence and Boston offices.
