Bill is a Certified Family Law Specialist, certified by the Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California. More important than the title, though, Bill has the proven ability to litigate aggressively when necessary and engineering settlements when possible. He has been described by judges, fellow attorneys and his clients as "high octane", "an attorney with an encyclopedic knowledge of the law", and "a genuine nice guy who fights when he needs to but prefers settlements when it benefits his client." Bill graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University with a degree in East Asian Languages and Culture. After several years of working in Japan, he attended law school at the University of California Hastings College of Law. In the two decades since Bill was admitted to the California Bar, he has appeared in the Superior courts of Northern and Southern California while handling every issue involved in family law and divorce cases. Bill has expertise in complex matters involving high-value assets, management of business entities and intellectual property during the dissolution process, fiduciary duties, high-earner spousal and child support, and custody of children (including interstate and international custody disputes). Allen has worked for leading research and development tax firm alliantgroup LP of Houston, where he was recognized as a top performing associate in 2015, and for Big 4 accounting firm: KPMG LLP, as a member of the Accounting Methods and Credits Services Tax Practice. Allen has represented the interests of companies such as Toyota, Konami, Consolidated Edison, and Allergan Pharmaceuticals; and identified tens of millions of dollars in tax incentives and benefits. Aside from his credentials as an Attorney, Allen earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Entrepreneurship from Hampton University, an MBA from Dowling College, and held leadership positions in Fortune 100 Companies such as The Disney Company and Target Corporation. Prior to joining alliantgroup LP, Attorney Woodward served as a Judicial Law Clerk at the United States District Court for the U.S. Virgin Islands.

He has successfully litigated several high-profile cases and has represented celebrities, professional athletes, and large business executives. He is chairman of the Board of Communities in Schools, serves on the board of his local Rotary Club, served on the Board of the Fourth Judicial Circuit Juvenile Justice Coalition and was a long time big brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Josh has four sons with his wife Casey and they live in Ponte Vedra, Florida.
