Kari MacDonald graduated from Michigan State University in 1998 and received her Juris Doctorate in 2001 from Michigan State University College of Law (formerly known as the Detroit College of Law). She became licensed in Michigan in the fall of 2001 and practiced law in Michigan for two years before relocating to Florida. In February of 2004, she sat for the Florida bar exam and was admitted to practice law in Florida a few months thereafter. Before opening up her own firm in June of 2009, Kari practiced in the areas of Family Law, Civil Litigation, Probate Estates and Workers Compensation. Since opening her own practice Kari handles cases almost exclusively in the areas of Family Law, and Estate Planning and appears before the Courts in Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco, Pinellas and Manatee counties. In April of 2018, Kari became a collaboratively trained attorney in an effort to afford her client a more civil and financially-advantageous way in which to resolve what may otherwise be a highly-contested divorce case. Kari is a member in good standing of the Michigan Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association. Area of Practice: Common Interest Development Law JOHN R. MACDOWELL has been a member of the California State Bar since 1983. He is a shareholder of Fiore Racobs & Powers in the Firm's Orange County and San Diego County offices, and is responsible for the supervision of all litigation for the Orange County and San Diego County offices. Mr. MacDowell pursued his undergraduate studies at Pomona College, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. He obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at the University of Chicago, graduating in 1983. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Community Associations Institute (CAI) and California Association of Community Managers (CACM). Mr. MacDowell served on the City of Santa Ana Planning Commission from 1996 to 1998. Mr. MacDowell successfully briefed and argued the case of Brown v. Professional Community Management, Inc. (2005) 127 Cal.App.4th 532, which held that the Davis-Stirling Act does not limit the fees that a management company may charge for services. He also co-authored a "Friend of the Court" brief on behalf of community associations in the landmark Supreme Court case of Lamden v. La Jolla Shores Clubdominium Association (1999) 21 Cal.4th 249. Mr. MacDowell is a member of the prestigious College of Community Association Lawyers of CAI (CCAL). He is active in the San Diego Chapter of CAI, currently holding the position as Co-Chair of the Programs Committee. Mr. MacDowell has served as Chair of the CAI California Legislative Action Committee (CLAC), and a delegate to the Committee from the Orange County Chapter of CAI. He has been recognized for his numerous contributions to CAI’s Orange County Chapter, receiving the prestigious May Russell Hall of Fame Award in 2010 and the Ellen Ellish Award in 2009. He has served as President of the Orange County Chapter in 2008. Mr. MacDowell is a frequent presenter at educational programs and seminars at the CAI Legal Forum-California Communities, CAI Orange County Chapter education programs and the CACM Law Seminar. He has written numerous articles on community association law and contributes frequently to the CACM Law Journal and CAI's O.C. View magazine.

Cooper Mach was born and raised in the Kansas City area, where he is proud to put his local connections and expertise to work. Cooper attended Kansas State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Mass Communications and a Leadership minor. When ESPN didn’t call offering him a SportsCenter anchor job after graduation, he attended Law School at the University of Kansas, where he served as both a staff editor and a staff articles editor on the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy. Cooper was also the student representative to the ABA for the law school and was the president of the 3-to-1 Mentorship Program. Cooper has jumped right into practice establishing himself in the courtroom. He has already played a role on trial teams and has helped his clients in recovering large settlements. He prides himself on being a zealous advocate who helps his client’s connect with a jury and maximize their recoveries. Outside of his practice, Cooper loves being active with his wife, Kaitlin, and their Bernedoodle puppy, Walter. Following four generations of attorneys in his family, Mackenzie was admitted to practice in the State of New York and founded his law firm in 1995. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and Dean's List Honors from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He holds a degree of Master of Studies in Environmental Law, Cum Laude, from Vermont Law School; a J.D. from Western New England University where he was Chair of the Environmental Law Coalition; and an M.S.Ed. from The City University of New York through an AmeriCorps Scholarship Grant and the New York City Teaching Fellows. Mackenzie prepared for practice with Fleet Bank Investment Services, The United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, and Rhode Island Attorney General's Office. From 1988 to 1990, he served as a Campaign Research Director and Legislative Aide to United States Senator John Chafee. A member of the Roosevelt family, he contributes to charitable organizations that preserve historical knowledge and landmarks in New York, and serves as pro-bono general counsel of the New York Quadricentennial Committee.
