Ben Hall served his community and our country proudly over the years. He served 5 years in the Marine Corps, including a tour in Iraq. He has nearly 10 years of law enforcement experience, including working full-time as a police officer when he started law school. While in law school, he also interned at the Michigan House of Representatives, the Governor’s Office, and served as a law clerk intern for a state circuit court judge and two federal judges on the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. After graduating law school, Ben worked for two years at the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office, handling cases of various complexity, from misdemeanors to complex multimillion-dollar fraud cases and cases involving criminal sexual conduct. Ben left the prosecutor’s office and immediately put his past experiences to work for the benefit of his clients. Ben has secured favorable outcomes for his clients, including multiple dismissals, by leveraging his experience as a police officer and prosecutor to pick apart the prosecution’s case. This has allowed Ben’s clients to go from facing years of incarceration or a lifetime impact of a criminal conviction to walking out of court with their freedom. Ben is a bit of a celebrity. He has been interviewed by local and national media regarding Michigan’s child protective services policies as well as on a veteran’s perspective and reflection on 9/11. He also appeared on The Real, Fox and Friends, CNN, NBC Nightly News, HLN, and several other media outlets due to an extraordinary act of grace he showed to a struggling young mom when he was a police officer. In his “spare time,” Ben officiates high school and college football and basketball games and has begun lessons to obtain his private pilot’s license. Ben received his bachelor’s degree from Park University in 2007, his master’s degree at Central Michigan University in 2015, and received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law in 2019.
